The Maverick HA8SP Storefront Double Door Automatic Opener Retrofit Kit provides a complete automatic door solution designed to convert compatible existing storefront double doors into a simultaneous automatic entrance.

This package is built around the Maverick HA8SP Ultra Heavy Duty Double Door Automatic Operator System in a Dark Bronze Anodized finish. Both door leaves are designed to automatically open together as one coordinated pair.

This particular configuration is designed for a simultaneous outswing storefront door pair. The HA8SP uses push-side arm assemblies to push both storefront door leaves outward during the automatic opening cycle.

The package also includes two commercial handicap push buttons, two 433 MHz wireless transmitters, one compatible wireless receiver and two surface-mount handicap push button boxes, providing automatic activation capability from both sides of the entrance.

IMPORTANT – RETROFIT PACKAGE: This product is designed for an existing aluminum storefront double-door entrance. The storefront doors, storefront frame, glass, pivots, locks, panic hardware and other existing door hardware are not included.

Instead of installing a clear aluminum operator above a dark bronze storefront, this version provides a coordinated commercial appearance that better complements dark bronze anodized storefront framing and doors.

If your existing aluminum storefront doors and frame are in good operating condition, replacing the entire entrance may be unnecessary just to add automatic operation.

This package is specifically designed to add the Maverick HA8SP simultaneous double-door operator and wireless handicap activation system to a compatible existing storefront entrance.

Your existing doors, frame, glass, pivots and compatible locking hardware remain part of the opening.

The HA8SP system is added to provide coordinated automatic operation across both storefront door leaves.

One Activation – Both Storefront Doors Open Together

A double-door storefront entrance creates a different automatic door challenge than a conventional single-door opening.

Instead of automatically opening only one leaf, this package is designed to automatically operate both storefront doors together.

When either handicap push button is activated, the wireless transmitter sends an activation signal to the receiver connected to the Maverick HA8SP double-door system.

The HA8SP system begins the automatic opening cycle and both storefront door leaves swing outward simultaneously.

After the programmed hold-open period expires, the system controls the closing cycle and returns both door leaves to the closed position.

Compatible Storefront Locking Applications

One of the most important considerations when converting an existing storefront double-door entrance to automatic operation is the existing locking hardware.

Both door leaves must be free to swing before the Maverick HA8SP attempts to automatically open them.

This retrofit package is intended for applications where the existing storefront locking hardware can remain unlocked or mechanically released during periods of automatic operation.

Deadbolt with Flush Bolts

Many aluminum storefront double-door entrances use a deadbolt on the active door and flush bolts on the inactive door.

This type of opening can be compatible with the Maverick HA8SP double-door retrofit package provided the deadbolt is unlocked and the flush bolts are retracted so both door leaves are free to swing during automatic operation.

Concealed Vertical Rod Panic Bars with Dogging

Storefront double doors equipped with compatible concealed vertical rod panic devices can also be automated when the exit devices have an appropriate dogging feature.

When properly dogged, the vertical rod latches remain retracted and both storefront doors are free to swing automatically.

This allows the Maverick HA8SP simultaneous operator system to open both leaves without electrically retracting the panic devices during each automatic cycle.

3-Point Storefront Locks

Existing storefront entrances equipped with a 3-point locking system may also be compatible with this package as long as the lock can remain completely unlocked during periods of automatic operation.

All locking points must be released so the automatic operators are not attempting to move doors that are mechanically secured.

The Key Requirement: Both Doors Must Be Unlocked

The concept behind this retrofit package is simple:

If both existing storefront door leaves are free to swing, the Maverick HA8SP can automatically operate them as a simultaneous pair.

The existing locking hardware may remain on the doors, but it must be capable of being left unlocked or mechanically released while automatic operation is enabled.

If either door remains mechanically latched or locked, the automatic operator should not attempt to force the door open.

Need the Doors to Stay Locked Between Automatic Openings?

This standard retrofit package is intended for openings where the existing storefront locking hardware can remain unlocked during periods of automatic operation.

If your building requires the double doors to remain mechanically locked or latched between each automatic opening cycle, the locking hardware must be electronically released before the HA8SP begins opening the doors.

Depending on the existing hardware, this may require compatible electrified panic hardware, electric locking devices, access control components or other specialized hardware.

Electrified locking hardware is not included with this package.

Wireless Handicap Activation from Both Sides

This package includes two commercial handicap push buttons, allowing users to activate the automatic storefront entrance from both sides of the opening.

Each handicap push button is paired with a compatible 433 MHz wireless transmitter.

When either handicap button is pressed, the transmitter sends an activation signal to the included wireless receiver connected to the Maverick HA8SP double-door system.

The receiver then initiates the simultaneous automatic opening cycle.

Reduce Activation Wiring Through Existing Walls
