Kawneer Storefront Deadbolt Locks

Kawneer storefront deadbolt locks are commonly used on commercial aluminum and glass entrance doors where a secure mechanical locking solution is required. These locks use a long-throw bolt that projects from the door into the frame or strike when locked.

Replacement deadbolt lock bodies and complete lock kits are available in multiple configurations. Depending on the application, a complete assembly can be configured with mortise key cylinders on both sides or an outside key cylinder with an interior thumbturn.

Kawneer Hook Bolt Locks

We also carry Kawneer hook bolt locks for commercial storefront applications. Instead of a straight projecting deadbolt, this lock configuration uses a hook-shaped bolt.

Shop replacement hook bolt lock bodies or complete Kawneer hook bolt lock kits with double mortise key cylinders or an outside mortise cylinder and inside thumbturn. Always verify your existing lock type and backset before ordering.

31/32" vs. 1-1/8" Kawneer Lock Backset

Selecting the correct backset is critical when replacing a storefront door lock. Kawneer lock products in this category include both 31/32-inch and 1-1/8-inch backset configurations.

Do not select a replacement lock based only on its appearance. Verify the backset of the existing lock and compare your door preparation with the specifications of the replacement hardware before ordering.

Kawneer Storefront Deadlatch Locks

For storefront entrances requiring a latching lock rather than a conventional deadbolt, we offer Kawneer commercial door deadlatch locks. Deadlatch configurations are available for applications such as exit-only and two-way traffic.

Because deadlatch hardware is handed, it is important to determine whether your storefront door requires a left-hand or right-hand deadlatch. Complete kits are also available with an outside mortise key cylinder and inside push-to-exit paddle handle.

Kawneer Mortise Key Cylinders & Thumbturns

In many cases, the entire storefront lock assembly does not need to be replaced. If the lock body is still functioning properly, you may only need a replacement mortise key cylinder, thumbturn, or related lock component.

Mortise cylinders provide keyed access from the exterior or from both sides of the door, while an interior thumbturn allows the compatible lock to be operated from inside without using a key.

How Do I Know Which Kawneer Lock I Need?

Important information to verify includes:

• Deadbolt, hook bolt, or deadlatch lock type
• 31/32" or 1-1/8" backset
• Left-hand or right-hand door handing when applicable
• Key cylinder or thumbturn configuration
• Single-cylinder or double-cylinder operation
• Existing storefront door preparation
• Aluminum or dark bronze finish

Repair Your Existing Kawneer Storefront Door

A worn or damaged storefront lock does not necessarily mean the complete aluminum door needs to be replaced. Depending on the condition of the entrance, replacing the lock body, mortise cylinder, thumbturn, deadlatch, or complete lock assembly may restore proper locking operation.
