A commercial door equipped with a cylindrical lever lock cannot be automatically openedwhile the latch remains engaged with the frame strike. The included electric strike solvesthis problem by electrically releasing the cylindrical lock latch before the Maverick HA8LPbegins the automatic opening cycle.
When a handicap push button is activated, the system can release the electric strike,automatically open the wood door, hold the door open for the programmed period, and thenallow the door to return to the closed and latched position.

Cylindrical lever locks are one of the most common locking arrangements found on commercialwood doors. When the door closes, the latchbolt extends into the strike installed in thedoor frame, positively latching the door.
For an automatic door operator to open the door, this latch must first be released. Thispackage includes a cylindrical lock electric strike designed to provideelectrically controlled release for a compatible cylindrical lock application.
This allows the existing cylindrical lever lock to continue providing normal latchingoperation while adding the ability to electrically release the door during an automaticopening cycle.

The HA8LP combines a powerful 1/8 HP motor, commercial-grade drivetrain, onboardprogramming, and integrated lock-control capability in a compact operator platform.It is designed to provide reliable low-energy automatic operation while retainingmanual door operation when automatic activation is not required.
The included electric strike is an essential part of automating alatched commercial wood door. Instead of mechanically retracting the latchbolt throughthe lever handle, the electric strike releases at the frame so the door can swing openwhen the automatic operator is activated.
This allows the cylindrical lever lock and the Maverick HA8LP to perform two differentfunctions: the cylindrical lock provides the door's mechanical latching function, whilethe electric strike provides electrically controlled release during automatic operation.
Proper compatibility between the electric strike, cylindrical lock, door frame,electrical requirements, and desired locking function should be verified for thespecific opening.
Two commercial-grade wireless handicap push buttons are included with the package,allowing an activation point to be installed on each side of the commercial wood door.
Each activation assembly uses a 4.75" x 4.75" stainless steel push plate,surface-mount box, and 433 MHz wireless transmitter. The included receiver interfaceswith the Maverick HA8LP automatic door operator.
An automatic door operator provides the physical force required to swing the door open,but it cannot open a door if the cylindrical lock latch is still engaged with a standardframe strike.
The electric strike provides the missing link between the locking hardware and automaticdoor operator. When the system is activated, the strike electrically releases the latch,allowing the HA8LP to open the door.
After the automatic cycle is complete, the door closes and the cylindrical latch canre-engage, allowing the opening to return to its normal latched condition.
