What Is An Automatic Door Operator Bollard?

What Is An Automatic Door Operator Bollard? | Sales: [email protected]

An automatic door operator bollard is a post designed to mount recessed into the ground or surface mounted. Automatic door bollards are typically found outside on the exterior of the building. In this article we explain what an automatic door bollard is and why they are used.

Exterior Activation

The main purpose of an automatic door bollard is that it functions as the outside activation switch for the automatic door opener. If the commercial building does not have a location on the wall that is covered from rain or snow, then a bollard is used.

Weatherproof

Automatic door operator bollards are weatherproof. Most installations use wireless handicap push buttons with transmitters. The bollard features a plastic cap at the top which houses the transmitter from rain and snow.

Plastic Cap

It is important to note that automatic door operator bollards feature a plastic cap since it allows the signal from the wireless transmitter to pass through. Other bollards that are not designed for automatic doors may use a metal cap, which will not allow the transmitter signal to pass through.

Heavy Duty

Automatic door operator bollards are constructed from heavy duty steel. They can either be recessed into the ground and cemented in, or they can be surface mounted with concrete lag bolts.
