Designed for Storefront Doors with Panic Bars

Commercial aluminum storefront entrance doors frequently userim panic bars / exit devicesto provide exit hardware on the interior side of the door.

When the panic bar is mechanically locked, simply installing an automaticdoor operator is not enough. The locking hardware must first be released before the automatic operatorattempts to move the door.

This Maverick HA8LP package solves that problem by including acompatible rim electric strike solutionfor the panic hardware application.

Instead of requiring the panic bar to remain mechanically dogged down forautomatic operation, the electric strike allows the entrance to remainsecured when appropriate while providingautomatic unlocking during an authorized automatic opening cycle.

How the Automatic Unlocking Sequence Works

The electric strike and Maverick HA8LP are coordinated so the lockinghardware can release before the automatic operator attempts to open the door.

  1. User presses either wireless handicap activation button.
  2. The wireless transmitter sends an activation signal to the receiver.
  3. The automatic door control initiates the programmed opening sequence.
  4. The rim electric strike releases the compatible panic hardware.
  5. After the lock release sequence, the Maverick HA8LP begins opening the door.
  6. The push arm pushes the storefront door outward into the open position.
  7. The door remains open for the programmed hold-open period.
  8. The HA8LP then allows the door to close under controlled operation.
  9. After the door returns to the closed position, the locking system can returnto its secured state as configured.

This sequence allows the automatic door operator and electric locking hardwareto function asone coordinated commercial entrance system.

Why Use a Rim Electric Strike?

A commercial storefront door equipped with a rim panic bar normally latchesagainst the frame when the door closes.

If that latch remains secured when the automatic operator is activated, the operator cannot simply push the locked door open.

Therim electric strike provides an electrically controlled release pointfor compatible rim exit hardware.

When the automatic opening cycle is authorized, the strike releases so thepanic hardware can clear the frame and the HA8LP can open the door.

This is particularly useful when you want to retain afunctional panic bar and secure commercial entrancewithout having to leave the panic hardware permanently dogged down.

Right Hand Reverse Push / Outswing Configuration

This specific package is configured for a Right Hand Reverse (RHR)commercial storefront door.

The HA8LP is installed on thepush side of the openingand uses a push arm assembly.

When activated, the operator transfers power through the arm topush the storefront door outward into the open position.

Door handing is important because the position of the operator, panic hardwareand rim electric strike must correspond with the physical configuration ofthe opening.

Verify that your storefront door is Right Hand Reverse (RHR) beforeordering this specific configuration.

Clear Anodized Aluminum Finish

This HA8LP configuration features aclear anodized aluminum operator housing, providing the traditional silver aluminum appearance commonly found oncommercial storefront entrance systems.

Clear anodized is particularly well suited for aluminum glass entrancesbecause it coordinates with many commonclear anodized storefront frames, doors and commercial hardware finishes.

This listing is specifically for theclear anodized Maverick HA8LP Right Hand Reverse configuration.

Includes Two Wireless Handicap Push Buttons

This package includestwo commercial handicap activation push buttonsso the automatic entrance can be activated from both sides of the opening.

A typical installation placesone activation button on the exterior side and one on the interior sideof the commercial entrance.

Each stainless steel push plate is designed for commercial automatic dooractivation and provides a large, easy-to-identify activation surface.

Wireless Handicap Push Button Kit Includes

  • 2 stainless steel handicap activation plates
  • 2 surface-mount boxes
  • 2 wireless 433 MHz transmitters
  • Transmitter batteries
  • 1 wireless receiver

Wireless activation can simplify retrofit installations by reducing theamount of activation wiring that must be run between the push button locationsand the automatic door operator.

4.75" x 4.75" Stainless Steel Handicap Push Plates

The included commercial activation switches use4.75" x 4.75" stainless steel push platesfor a durable commercial installation.

Maverick HA8LP – Low Profile Commercial Storefront Door Operator

TheMaverick HA8LPis our standard-duty low-profile automatic swing door operator for themajority of typical commercial applications.

Designed for commercial doors weighing up to300 lbs.,the HA8LP provides an excellent combination of commercial-grade construction, dependable operation and compact operator size.

Its low-profile housing is especially attractive forcommercial aluminum glass storefront doorswhere the operator is highly visible above the entrance.

Low Profile 4-1/8" x 5-1/8" Header

One of the major advantages of the Maverick HA8LP is its compact4-1/8" x 5-1/8" operator header profile.

The low-profile housing provides a cleaner architectural appearance andrequires less vertical mounting space than larger-profile automatic dooroperators.

This is particularly valuable on aluminum storefront systems where theoperator is mounted directly above a large glass entrance and becomes avisible architectural component of the opening.

Commercial Grade Construction

The Maverick HA8LP is built around a commercial-grade electromechanicaldrive system designed for dependable automatic door operation.

  • 1/8 HP electromechanical motor
  • High-precision gears
  • Aluminum-alloy gearbox
  • Heavy-duty sealed bearings
  • Permanent lubrication
  • High-wear-protection gear grease
  • 1-inch solid spline spindle arm connection
  • Mechanical clutch
  • Adjustable spring tension
  • Side loading
  • Digital electronic control system

Advanced Automatic Door Controls

The HA8LP combines its commercial mechanical drivetrain with digitalelectronic controls designed for flexible automatic door applications.

  • Digital control board
  • On-board programming
  • Plug-n-play design
  • Separate activation and safety inputs
  • Built-in strike / mag lock relay
  • Fail-safe or fail-secure electric lock control capability
  • Electric strike power capability
  • On / Off / Hold Open functionality
  • Adjustable door stop
  • Adjustable spring tension

Built-In Electric Lock Integration

TheMaverick HA8LP includes a built-in strike / mag lock relayfor integration with compatible commercial electric locking hardware.

This is especially important for this package because the automatic operatorand rim electric strike must work together.

The control sequence allows the locking device to releasebefore the operator begins applying opening force to the door.

Proper lock sequencing helps create a smoother automatic opening cycle andprotects the automatic door system from attempting to open against securedlocking hardware.

Access Control Compatible

The Maverick HA8LP can also be integrated into compatible commercialaccess control systems.
