The GapFix® ADA Water Control Door Seal Kit is designed to help reduce water intrusion, air infiltration, dust, insects, and wind-driven rain on 72" fire rated hollow metal door pairs (two 36" doors) while maintaining an ADA compliant threshold. This complete weather sealing system includes overhead rain drips, bottom door sweeps with integrated rain caps, and ADA bumper seal thresholds to improve weather protection for commercial exterior steel door openings.
Ideal for commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, warehouses, government facilities, apartment buildings, manufacturing plants, and industrial applications, this kit helps improve the weather seal around properly installed double hollow metal door openings exposed to the elements.
This kit is designed for 72" x 84" commercial hollow metal door pairs (two 36" wide doors) with gaps beneath the doors of up to approximately 1". The included bottom door sweeps and ADA bumper thresholds create a compression seal that helps reduce drafts, water intrusion, dirt, insects, and outside air from entering the building.
For maximum performance, the door opening should be properly installed with positive drainage away from the entrance.
This weather sealing kit is designed for installation on commercial hollow metal door pairs, including many fire-rated door assemblies. It is intended to improve weather resistance and does not create, modify, or increase the fire rating of the opening.
Any modifications to a fire-rated opening should comply with NFPA 80, local building codes, the door manufacturer's installation instructions, and the requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
The included bumper thresholds feature a maximum 1/2" height with beveled edges, providing an ADA compliant walking surface when installed in accordance with applicable accessibility requirements.
