The Ranger HD Medium Stile architectural aluminum storefront entrance systemis engineered for interior commercial wood stud wall openings with drywall on both sides.The heavy-duty door is constructed from 6063 architectural aluminum with reinforcedcorner block bracing and welded construction for increased strength, rigidity, and dependablecommercial performance.
Designed for moderate to heavy pedestrian traffic and increased abuse environments,this Medium Stile door features 3-1/2" vertical stiles,a 3-1/4" top rail, and a 10" ADA bottom rail.The wider aluminum rails provide greater rigidity, improved hardware support, and increased resistanceto twisting and flexing compared with a standard 2" Narrow Stile storefront door.
The door arrives factory pre-glazed with1/4" clear tempered single-pane safety glass.The clear interior glazing provides visibility and allows light to pass between offices,corridors, conference rooms, retail spaces, medical facilities, classrooms, and othercommercial interior areas.
The heavy-duty closed-back aluminum storefront frame is designed tobutt against the prepared wall opening. It does not wrap around the drywalllike a traditional hollow metal drywall frame. After the frame is installed, the contractormust trim out or finish the drywall and surrounding wall surfaces around the frame perimeter.
This complete interior entrance package includes Grade 1 commercial hardware,a 10" ADA bottom rail, ADA lock indicator, adjustable ADA-complianthydraulic closer, accessible pull-and-push hardware, heavy-duty top and bottom pivots,a substantial frame-mounted door stop, and full-perimeter pile seals.

The wall opening must include properly reinforced wood framing around the jambs and header.The aluminum frame is positioned within the prepared opening and secured to approvedstructural wood backing or reinforced framing.
The storefront frame is not a substitute for reinforced wall framing. The openingand surrounding wood stud construction must be properly reinforced before installation.
The Ranger HD frame is abutt-style architectural aluminum storefront frame.It is installed within the prepared wall opening with the frame face positionedagainst or aligned with the finished wall surface.
This frame does not have drywall returns and does not wrap around the wall thickness.Unlike a traditional hollow metal drywall frame, it does not overlap or conceal theedges of the drywall.
After the aluminum frame is installed, the contractor must trim, patch, finish, andpaint the drywall and surrounding wall surfaces around the frame perimeter.Appropriate drywall accessories, corner bead, reveal trim, perimeter trim, joint compound,backer rod, sealant, or other finish materials may be required to provide a clean transitionbetween the aluminum frame and the finished wall.
The final wall-to-frame transition is completed by others. Trim, drywall finishing,corner bead, joint compound, paint, sealant, and decorative finish materials are notincluded with the entrance package.
The wall opening must be adequately reinforced to support the aluminum frame, door weight,closer forces, repeated operation, and commercial hardware loads. Standard wood stud framingmay require additional jamb studs, headers, blocking, or structural reinforcement.
Wall reinforcement, blocking, anchor selection, and attachment design are suppliedand verified by others. Requirements vary based on entrance size, wall construction,hardware, and project conditions.
Because this Ranger HD entrance is configured for an interior commercial application,it includes 1/4" clear tempered single-pane safety glass rather thanthe insulated Low-E glass used with exterior storefront entrance packages.
The clear glass provides visibility between interior spaces and allows natural andartificial light to pass through the entrance. The glass is factory installed in thewelded aluminum door before shipment.
