Option 1 – Simultaneous Outswing Door Pair

Choose Simultaneous Outswing when both commercial wood doors swing outward and both leaves need to automatically open together.

This configuration uses push-side arm assemblies. When either handicap push button is activated, both HA8SP operators work together to push both door leaves outward.

Both doors open as a coordinated simultaneous pair and return to the closed position after the programmed hold-open period.

Option 2 – Simultaneous Inswing Door Pair

Choose Simultaneous Inswing when both commercial wood doors swing inward and both leaves need to automatically open together.

This configuration uses pull-side arm assemblies. The Maverick HA8SP operators pull both doors inward during the automatic opening cycle.

Both door leaves operate together as one coordinated automatic entrance.

Option 3 – Dual Egress Door Pair

Choose the Dual Egress configuration when your commercial wood double-door opening uses a dual-egress swing arrangement.

The Maverick HA8SP system is configured specifically for the handing and swing requirements of the dual-egress pair so the door leaves can be automatically operated as part of one coordinated entrance.

This retrofit package can be used with compatible doggable surface vertical rod panic hardware when the panic devices are capable of keeping their latching mechanisms retracted during periods of automatic operation.

When the panic hardware is properly dogged, the doors are free to swing and the Maverick HA8SP operators can automatically open the pair.

The panic bars and surface vertical rod hardware are not included with this package.

Why Dogging Matters

An automatic door operator cannot properly open a door while the door is mechanically latched into the frame or floor.

With compatible doggable surface vertical rod panic hardware, the latching mechanisms can remain retracted during the periods when automatic operation is required.

This provides a straightforward sequence:

Dog the compatible panic hardware, press the handicap button and the Maverick HA8SP automatically operates the wood door pair.

Compatible with Push Plate / Pull Plate Wood Doors

The Maverick HA8SP double-door retrofit package is also an excellent solution for commercial wood door pairs equipped with push plates, pull plates or other non-latching push/pull hardware.

Because there is no mechanical latch that must be electronically released before the doors can move, these applications provide one of the simplest ways to automate an existing commercial double-door opening.

When the handicap button is pressed, the HA8SP system can begin the automatic opening cycle without waiting for an electric locking device to release.

Push plates and pull plates are not included with this retrofit package.

The Key Requirement: Both Door Leaves Must Be Free to Swing

Regardless of the hardware installed on your existing commercial wood double doors, one requirement remains the same:

Both door leaves must be mechanically free to swing before the Maverick HA8SP attempts to automatically open them.

Compatible panic hardware should be properly dogged, and any other locking or latching hardware must be unlocked or released during automatic operation.

The HA8SP should never be used to force open a mechanically locked or latched door.

Need the Doors to Stay Locked Between Automatic Openings?

This standard retrofit package is intended for applications where the existing hardware can remain unlocked, unlatched or properly dogged during periods of automatic operation.

If your commercial wood double doors must remain secured between automatic opening cycles, compatible electrified locking or latch-retraction hardware may be required.

Depending on the existing hardware, this may include electric strikes, electrified panic hardware, latch retraction, magnetic locks or other access control equipment.

Electrified locking and access control hardware are not included with this package.

One Activation – Automatic Operation of the Door Pair

Double-door entrances require coordinated operation between both door leaves.

The Maverick HA8SP double-door system is designed so the door pair operates as one coordinated automatic entrance.

When either handicap push button is activated, the wireless transmitter communicates with the included receiver.

The receiver signals the Maverick HA8SP system and initiates the automatic opening cycle.

The operators then move the door leaves according to the selected Simultaneous Outswing, Simultaneous Inswing or Dual Egress configuration.

Wireless Handicap Activation from Both Sides

This package includes two commercial handicap push buttons, providing automatic activation capability from both sides of the commercial wood double-door opening.

Each handicap button uses a compatible 433 MHz wireless transmitter.
