This package is specifically designed for storefront doors that already use a compatible doggable panic bar / exit device. During periods of automatic operation, the panic bar can be mechanically dogged down so the latch remains retracted and the Maverick HA8LP can automatically open and close the door.

At the heart of the package is the Maverick HA8LP Low Profile Automatic Door Operator, our standard-duty commercial operator designed for the majority of everyday automatic door applications and doors weighing up to 300 lbs.

Its 4-1/8" x 5-1/8" low-profile header provides a cleaner, more compact appearance above the storefront entrance while retaining a commercial-grade 1/8 HP electromechanical drive system.

The Simple Way to Automate a Storefront Door with Doggable Panic Hardware

Panic hardware creates an additional consideration when adding an automatic door opener. If the panic device is latched, the automatic operator cannot open the door until that latch is released.

A doggable panic bar provides a simple solution when the door is permitted to remain unlatched during periods of automatic operation.

When the existing panic bar is placed into its dogged position, the latch remains mechanically retracted.

This leaves the storefront door free to swing and allows the Maverick HA8LP to automatically open and close the door.

No Electric Strike Required for Dogged Operation

Because the existing panic bar can be mechanically dogged, an electric strike is not required simply to release the panic hardware during normal dogged automatic operation.

This creates a straightforward automatic sequence:

Dog the existing panic bar, press the handicap button and the Maverick HA8LP automatically opens the door.

If your panic hardware must remain latched between automatic opening cycles, this is not the correct package configuration.

An automatic door package using compatible electrically released locking or panic hardware should be selected instead.

Low Profile Design for Commercial Storefront Entrances

Your existing storefront door, frame, glass, pivots or hinges and compatible doggable panic hardware remain part of the opening.

Non-Handed Design Simplifies Installation

Designed for Existing Doggable Panic Hardware

The panic bar / exit device is not included with this package.

This automatic door opener package is intended for a compatible storefront door that already has doggable panic hardware installed, or where compatible panic hardware will be supplied separately.

During normal manual operation, pushing the panic bar retracts the latch and allows occupants to exit through the door.

When the panic device is properly dogged, its latch remains mechanically retracted, allowing the door to swing without requiring the panic bar to be depressed during each automatic opening.

How Automatic Operation Works

Automatic operation is straightforward once the existing panic bar has been placed into the appropriate dogged position.

When a user presses either handicap push button, the 433 MHz transmitter sends a wireless activation signal to the receiver connected to the Maverick HA8LP.

Because the existing panic device latch is already retracted, the HA8LP can immediately begin opening the storefront door.

After the programmed hold-open period expires, the HA8LP automatically begins the controlled closing cycle.

Wireless Handicap Door Activation

This package includes two commercial handicap push buttons for automatic activation from both sides of the entrance.

Each handicap button uses a compatible 433 MHz wireless transmitter.

When either button is pressed, the transmitter sends a signal to the included 433 MHz receiver connected to the Maverick HA8LP.
