When either handicap button is pressed, the operator automatically opens the door,holds it open for the programmed time, and then returns the door toward the closedposition.
Commercial wood doors equipped with a doggable panic bar can also be converted toautomatic operation. When the panic device is mechanically dogged, the latch is heldin the retracted position so the door can swing freely.
Since the panic hardware remains mechanically unlocked, the Maverick operator canautomatically open the door when one of the wireless handicap push buttons is activatedwithout requiring an electric strike.
For a commercial wood door equipped with a rim panic bar that needs to remain latchedwhen closed, choose a package with a rim electric strike.
The electric strike provides automatic release of compatible rim panic hardware beforethe Maverick automatic door operator begins opening the door.
This allows the panic hardware to remain latched during normal operation while stillproviding automatic unlocking and automatic push-button door operation.
Cylindrical lever locks are one of the most common locking arrangements found oncommercial solid core wood doors. When the door closes, the cylindrical latchboltengages the strike installed in the door frame.
A standard automatic operator cannot open the door while the latch remains engaged.For this application, choose a Maverick package with acylindrical lock electric strike.
The electric strike releases the cylindrical latch before the automatic operator beginsopening the door. After the automatic cycle is complete and the door closes, thecylindrical latch can re-engage and return the opening to its normal latched condition.
Automatic unlocking is an important part of automating any commercial wood doorequipped with positive latching hardware. The automatic operator provides the forcenecessary to swing the door, but the locking hardware must first release the door.
