UL, ADA, ANSI/BHMA, & NFPA Safety Functions
UL Listed
The Commander door opener is UL325 and UL10C listed. This allows the Commander door opener to 1) Be installed in any commercial building 2) Be installed on any fire rated door. Where most automatic door openers lack these certifications, the Commander does not. Don't risk hefty fines and failed building inspections to save a couple of dollars. Safety is always the top priority!
Fire Alarm Input
The Commander automatic door opener features a fire alarm input, to de-energize the door opener in the event of a fire in the commercial building. The built in fire spring in the Commander's gearbox, will allow the Commander to function as a traditional hydraulic door closer, allowing it to gently latch the fire door closed preventing the spread of fire. Most automatic door openers lack a closing spring, making it a danger on any commercial door. Safety is a priority. Don't risk a failed building inspection or expensive fine due to installing unsafe automatic door operators that lack this feature!
15lb Opening Force
When automated the Commander automatic door opener will transform your commercial door way into a barrier free ADA compliant entrance. The Commander door opener requires no more than 15lbs of force to stop the door from moving as required per ADA requirements section 4.13.12. Today the majority of automatic door operators are imported from Asia, and as result do not meet America's ADA law. ADA was put in place to provide equal accessibilty for all and to improve the safety of entrances. Don't risk fines and failed inspections from building inspectors. Choose the Commander automatic door operator because it was designed for use in the USA and Canada market!
ANSI A156.19
The Commander door opener complies to ANSI A156.19 requirements for the low energy model. ANSI/BHMA standards are national requirements for automatic door openers in order to be installed in commercial buildings.
ADA - Americans With Disabilities Act
The Commander door opener software and mechanics is engineered such that the door opener can be installed in complete compliance with the ADA requirements.
Reverse On Obstruction Function
The Commander door opener features a built in safety function that allows the door opener to sense if there is an obstruction when the door is opening or closing. For example, if an obstruction is detected as the door is opening, then the Commander door opener will automatically close the door so that the door will no longer be pushing against the obstruction.
Safety Sensor Interface
The Commander automatic door opener's controller features a power supply interface and relay inputs for additional safety sensors. Additional ADA compliant door sensors are available with the Commander automatic door opener.

Many times, building owners or even contractors get frustrated due to the difficulty trying to integrate an automatic door opener that will work with their existing security system or commercial door type. Door automation can seem very complicated, since they require multiple components such as the activation switches, ADA safety sensors, and more to work with one another. Issues with compatibility and lack of UL Certification, can also turn any job into a difficult and complex one. That's where the Commander automatic door opener comes in. Commander automatic door openers are compatible with all major commercial door manufactures, door hardware manufacturers, and access control manufactures. We also offer turnkey complete automatic door opener systems with activation hardware, locking hardware, and safety sensors, that are all designed to work together, so you will never have any compatibility issues.
